Title: Shapes and Dance

 Component: Geometry and spatial sense 

Objective: 

-Ability to understand shapes-Identifies left and right hand-Identifies and draws two-dimensional figures-Uses concrete materials to make symmetrical figures(their bodies) 

-Ability to create a dance sequence.

Competency: 

-The student describes, draws, identifies, and analyzes two and three-dimensional shapes

 -Describes, analyzes, and generalizes a wide view of patterns, relations, and functions.

 Activity:-Students will watch a video/demonstration on creating shapes through dance-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0B6Ge0FzHG0 

-I will hold up shapes and the students will call out what shapes they are

 -Students will be assigned various shapes in groups and make a dance out of forming their bodies into them-Students will write out their choreography using the order of the shapes they formed, by drawing the shapes they used in the order they performed them in 

Assessment:

 -Showing their final dance and hang up their drawn-out sequence 

-Drawn out sequence needs to be accurate to their dance-Shapes acted out need to demonstrate knowledge of that shape
