 Sound Art

 Sound art is an artistic discipline in which sound is utilized as a primary medium. Like many genres of contemporary art, sound art may be interdisciplinary in nature, or be used in hybrid forms.

  Activity

1. Students will work in groups to record sounds with the objective of making a sound-art statement.

2. The groups will create a lesson plan about this activity using the MDCPS' curriculum.

Mind Racer

 This sound represents a chaotic mind represented with the environmental aspects causing the chaos hence the name mind racer. When you are up at night and can not sleep, this is the chaos in your mind. Each noise is a different thought racing through your mind when you'd rather not hear them at all.

Collage: The Ethnosphere

  The class will be introduced to National Geographic's Explorer Wade Davis who teaches about what calls the ethnosphere, a word he uses to describe  the imaginative contributions of humanity to the planet. He makes emphasis on people's stories. They are global resources, just like air, water, and green life.  Just like the biosphere, the ethnosphere is also  threatened by rampant modernization and globalization.  ACTIVITY Collage Collage is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.
